Do you need a will or other estate planning documents?

Do you need a will or other estate planning documents?

  • Will

Everybody needs a Will. Having one allows you to determine where your stuff will go and who will be in charge after you are gone. It also makes things easier and less costly for the loved ones you leave behind.

  • Durable Power of Attorney

This is the most important estate planning document you can have. We are much more likely to become incapacitated at some point in our lives than to die prematurely. This document allows someone to handle your affairs for you without getting a court involved.

  • Advance Health Care Directive

An advance directive allows you to set out your wishes regarding end-of-life care in the event of terminal illness or permanent unconsciousness. You can also name a health care proxy to make all health care decisions for you if you cannot make them for yourself.

  • Trust

For more information on our estate planning services, check out our Wills & Trusts page, or contact one of our attorneys: Jack, Shannon, Winston, or Jennifer.
